77/22 All Weather Mag to LR? - RimfireCentral.com Forums: "i have a multi-caliber set-up using a 77/17 (magnum action) to shoot 17m2, 17hmr, and 22mag. all i need to do to switch barrels / calibers is to remove the barrel and switch (15-20 minutes). although an option, i did not replace the triggerguard. instead, i use either a modified magazine or install an extended plunger. won't go into detail here (too long) but if you're that interested in doing it, read the following links to help guide you through the process:

as stated earlier, there are dimensional differences between the lr (17m2,22lr)and mag (17hmr,22mag) when it comes to rim thickness and rim diameter. there are ways to address this issue.

there are a few here that have played with the 'switch' or 'multi-caliber set-up' and i'm sure they will eventually provide you with some type of feedback and insight on how they pulled it off. if they don't, use the search function and you'll be able to retrieve past posts about the conversion.
