FN FiveseveN Forums - FUSE Demonstration Document (Experimental electronic fire control for P90): "go to gunsamerica or gunbroker and search on 'etronx'

it's an electronic firing system that remington made for their 700 series rifles that uses special primers. there's nothing mechanical in it... no moving firing pin, etc... and the lock time is unreal.

the guns originally were MSRP (about 4 yrs ago) at around $2000, but never caught on and you can buy a brand new rem700 etronix in 220 swift or 22-250 or something for under $600 if you shop around.

here's an example of an ad on thehighroad from a couple months ago

Rem 700 ETRONX VS SF W/FLUTED 220 SWIFT $555
Rem 700 ETRONX VS SF W/FLUTED 22-250 Rem $555

it does run on a 9v battery. i think that's the main reason they didn't sell (all the armchair commandos who didn't have $2000 in the first place, grousing about electric guns not being reliable, like they're going to be shooting zombies with a 22-250 )

the only real downside is that ammo is pricy. if you reload (and what varminter doesn't?) primers are about $90/box instead of $15/box like normal. even so, that's not too bad.

edit: btw, i was told (may not be true) that all the etronx guns that were made were handmade, like custom shop guns, which makes them much higher quality than the regular 700s (which are fantastic already)"
