Some Advantages:
* Completely isolating the input (pull of the external trigger) from the output (firing pin activation.) The long mechanical linkages required by traditional bullpup design could be eliminated. Also consider an analogy to power steering in a car: the trigger could be separately field-tuned to a lighter (or heavier) pull than the internal mechanism was set at.
* The ability to introduce electronic timing delays that aren't mechanically feasable (more applicable to automatic weapons with ROFs that are 'too high.')
* The ability to easily process additional inputs (e.g. a grip safety on the forward grip of the PS90 or a lojack-style deactivator or...)
* Simpler integration with other electronic devices (e.g. a weapon-mounted shot camera or a beam-hit style laser or a solenoid to push the actuated trigger back into the ready to fire position or...)"
