More kydex holsters for the FsN

Rumor has it that they have a clear kydex holster in the works.

FN FiveseveN Forums - Clear Holster Soon

FN FiveseveN Forums - Clear Holster Soon: "Was in Arizona Tactical Firearms yesterday and the owner (Ron) had a clear kydex holster for his fiveseven USG on. It looked really good. He said that they are going to be the exclusive dealers for these holsters made by C&S weapons (candsweapons.com) and will be able to get the holsters made for the fiveseven, either right or left hand, inside or out, and can get them serial numbered (approximately 3-4 wks out)."

FN FiveseveN Forums - How to become a Corp.

Posted by RBMG:

FN FiveseveN Forums - How to become a Corp.: "As an alternative to forming a corporation for NFA you might want to consider going the Trust route. A Trust is a legal entity and as such is no different than a Corporation holding NFA items. Under the United States Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Federal Firearms Regulations, Part 179 Machine Guns, Destructive Devices and Certain Other Firearms, Section 179.11 specifically defines a Person (i.e. someone who is authorized to purchase NFA) to include Trusts as well as Corporations. If someone does not want to deal with signoff or cant get it, the corp or trust route is the only answer. The main benefits of a trust are that you dont have to pay the annual fee to the Division of Corporations in Tallahassee every year to keep it active like you do with a corp., the ability to pass on the assets to your heirs, and the fact that the trust is more private. With a corp. (at least in Florida) your name and address is available to anyone on the internet site for the Division of Corporations. There is no registration of a trust (at least in Florida), so there is no place for outsiders to get such information. The cost savings is what a lot of my customers have been interested in. Here is a good example. I sold a .22 suppressor for $300.00 to a person who had already paid $200.00 to set up a corporation for NFA (filing fees, corp book, etc.). He has had the suppressor now for 5 years. With the Florida Corporate annual fees he has paid $750.00 in annual fees and will continue to pay $150 a year as long as he wants to keep the suppressor. Alot of money for a $300 suppressor. Also for legal entities like trusts or corps, there are no fingerprints or photos submitted with a transfer of an NFA item so theoretically the transfers should go a 'littl"

Its VERY easy. Pull the mag, pull the upper receiver, pull the bolt out next, pull the rear buttpad off, then pull the trigger pack out.

Now unscrew the two halves of the body.
Pull out everything else!

Thats it!

My gun stayed together after the two halves were seperated. So you can see where everything goes. The only parts to be careful, of are the 2 tiny springs under the safety/fire switch. It has the typical springs that will fly out into your shag carpet (no matter where you are in the room). The springs have tiny 'click' wedges on either end. This is the only thing you have to watch for.

Everything else is easy! The mag release is one piece with a fat spring behind it (it will also be the last thing you install). You will just slide it backwards into place after reassembly, untill it snaps in.

The ejection door cover in the 'ejection port' is mostly one piece, and stays together well. It also reassembles EASY, depress the two spring sides and slide it up the port. It snaps into place. You dont even need to worry about re-setting the spring. it resets itself when you re-install the cover. Thats about it for pieces.

The trigger is attached to a bar. The dis-assembly is almost self explanitory.
I took the nuts out of the stock as well, just because.

The only 'difficult' part is re-installing the safety/fire switch. You have to depress the two springs together with the 'wedge' pieces on them, and slide them under the switch. The hard part comes from the 'wedge' pieces rotating around while trying to stick them under there. "

FN FiveseveN Forums - optic mounts for five seven: "ok i made a bridgemount for the 5 7 out of steel for fitting. all appears well and i am going to remake them out of stainless and have them and either polish the stainless or have them powdercoated black. the only thing i have left to make is replacement frame pins (1 through the takedown lever and the other through the trigger) which will be metal (not sure what material yet) and will be drilled and tapped dead center with 3-48 threads. All is going extremely well and i hope that within the next 2 weeks i will be able to get them out too a couple of you guys for testing."

This is an amended version of an article which originally appeared in Guns Review International in instalments between May and September 1996
Since the introduction of smokeless ammunition powders and the high muzzle velocities which they made possible, there has been a constant search for improved ballistic performance for both civilian and military purposes. However, these searches have had different objectives which have led to different outcomes.

Bullets for Beginners

Bullets for Beginners: "Flechette type APFSDS projectiles utilizing high strength or high density rod penetrators have been developed for small caliber 5.56 and 7.62 millimeter rifle systems, but without allowance for a tracer cavity in the flight projectile. Fin stabilized APFSDS projectile designs incorporating an adequate tracer cavity and developed for larger caliber systems do not efficiently scale down to small caliber projectiles due to the complexity of their sabot geometries which were optimized for the unique parameters of the larger caliber systems. Early fin stabilized APFSDS projectile designs for smaller caliber 5.56 and 7.62 millimeter guns did not provide for a tracer cavity in the rear of the flight projectile.
A more effective and efficient fin-stabilized, discarding sabot projectile incorporating an adequate tracer cavity with a deep armor penetrating projectile for small arms applications design overcomes many of the shortcomings inherent in earlier small arms APDS and APFSDS projectiles, such as: faulty structural design, poor sabot discard, reduced projectile accuracy at long range, low muzzle velocity due to high sabot parasitic weight, and inadequate armor penetration. Although a good start in the right direction for small caliber APFSDS projectiles, this design requires the use of several high precision manufactured obturator components, to ensure adequate performance and safety reliability. Reducing the complexity of the current state-of-the-art in obturator design will result in greater projectile performance, achieved with less expensive components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
Accordingly, it is advantageous to provide an armor piercing fin stabilized discarding sabot (APFSDS) projectile for small caliber guns which minimizes sabot parasitic weight and structural complexity, facilitates rapid sabot sepa"

FN FiveseveN Forums - Taking off the barrel to SBR the PS90

FN FiveseveN Forums - Taking off the barrel to SBR the PS90: "First remove the pin holding the flash hider on. You can grind out a relief cut as Mark did or drill it out. Either way, remove the entire pin. There is no way to do it without maring the barrel extension. If you took a really long time, you cold carefully drill/grind away the opposite side of the sleeve from the pin and carefully drive it out. Once the pin is removed, don't try to unscrew the flash hider from the sleeve, it will not come out. Take a 15mm open ended box wrench and grind down the sides so that it will fit in the groove in the chamber end of the barrel. Most standard wrenches will not fit as the groove is tight and if you try to force it you will mar the barrel. Unscrew the barrel from the flash hider. It has left hand threads, so turn it clockwise to remove it. An easy way is to wrap the flash hider in a few layers of paper and clamp it in a pair of aluminum AR-15 barrel blocks to hold it without marring it. Watch the front of the receiver as once the hider/sleeve unscrews a certain amount, it can rotate and scratch the front of the receiver. Once it unscrews from the flash hider, you can pull the hider/sleeve off of the front of the barrel. Watch carefully as there is a spring between the sleeve and the receiver around the barrel that you will need to put back when you re-asemble or replace with a short barrel and hider. Pull the barrel out of the back of the receiver carefully as the recoil spring is around the barrel and the spring loaded takedown button is near the back That's it. You can separate the flash hider from ther sleeve by unscrewing it but it is right hand thread so unscrew it counter clockwise. The two different thread turns is what prevents you from unscrewing the hider first. The barrel only screws into the flash hider, but the flash hider screws into both the "

FN FiveseveN Forums - New To 5.7x28: "I have some info concerning the original powder mfg that FN used/using. FIOCCHI is still using this same powder as well now that they have the contract from FN ref website: http://www.fnherstal.com/html/Index.htm.
FN used a Powder Manufacture called PB Clermont their site:
http://www.pb-clermont.be/v_h01/index_swf.html, they are a subsidery of Eurenco groupe SNPE from Belgium. This parent company also controls EURENCO Bofors- which is Alliant Powder in the USA, EURENCO Vihtavuori- which is Vihta Vuori distrbuted via Kaltron-Pettibone in the USA and EURENCO France- which is PB Clermont. PB Clermont distributes their powder via Western Powders under the brand name of RAMSHOT. FN nor Western Powders will not give out this info, I have verified that TRUE BLUE is the actual powder used for all 5.7 rounds.

Charge weight ranges from 5.0 to 6.5 grains depending on what round it is; such as the SS192, SS190, SS195, SS196 and so on. I pulled the bullets from these rounds and then weighed the powder from each."
