We won't be tooled up to make or re-load the 5.7x28 until FNH decides to release the brass. Needless to say we have done some development work with several powders, but all the powders we used are not "over the counter" type powders.

Bullets for subsonic loads will most likely be in the 55g+ weight. I feel the 55g V-Max from Hornady will make an excellent hunting/SD load if loaded at about 1000FPS. We will have standard reloading dies available soon, if you like I'll shoot you an e-mail when they arrive. Water capacity for the 5.7x28 is 10.5g, capacity for the .22 Hornet is 13.5; That should give you a general idea of where to start on your loading.

Later, Ron added:

Feel free to include my responses and contact info where ever you like. I spoke with a customer today that has found that the 35g V-Max with 6.9-7.1g of AA#9 1.350" OAL duplicates the factory velocity. The problem is that you have to stay in that .3g area, as less causes detonation and more of course is over pressure. I have no verification of this load so be cautious, and it is only intended for information purposes. [Ed - emphasis added]

A bit later, Ron added:

The dies are in 69.00 per set.
