Rhineland Arms: "The AR57 upper is a completely new design by Rhineland Arms. The design allows for the use of our upper on any AR15/M16 lower (note class 2 will be available from another mfg) The rifle uses standard 30 or 50 round magazines that attach to the top of the rifle, cartridges feed from the top and eject out the bottom of the magazine well. The upper is available with a stainless steel 16.5' barrel, threaded for the standard M16 flash hider. Features include a scope rails on the top and bottom of the rifle with attachment points on the sides.
The AR57 upper is designed for heavy duty use in sandy or muddy environments. Other features include easy to diss-assemble design for rapid cleaning, that can be done in the field with no tools required. Internal small parts are standard off the shelf US military, except for the firing pin. Estimated release date is late April with a price around $550.

Rhineland Arms will be offering 2 new rifles for the new 5.7*28mm caliber. These rifles will be modular, light and accurate. The 5.7*28 mm is a 22 caliber bullet, the same as a .223 that we are all used to.
The first rifle will be more traditional than the R22 yet still utilize a free float barrel for high accuracy capabilities. The rifle will use the standard FN FiveseveN 10 or 20 round magazines and feature a 17' button made barrel. This rifle will have several parts that are inter-changable with other parts currently on the market. Priced around $500
The second rifle will be based on the same magazine as the FN P90. This rifle will have a free floating 16.5' barrel and readily accept optics. The features of the rifle will be very familiar with a traditional military stock, pistol grip and forearm format. Priced around $550

FN FiveseveN Forums - Does anyone have 5.7 chamber reamers in stock?: "Were working on a new dedicated semi auto rifle as a special project. It will be modular and capable of high accuracy out to the limits of this cartridge.

We do plan on offering this to the US market as well, hopefully all 50 states but you never know about California."
