FN Forum.NET :: PS90 FS200 FN SCAR FNP FiveseveN 5.7x28mm: "The first release will be a $79 each limited group buy here on FNForum. Limit will be 2 per customer. After that, all marketing will be thru an agreement we have established with a distributor, who will control all advertising and sales. Retail is going to be around $125. We're in the final stages, just finishing up a newly designed tactical magazine latch that is going to be provided with the mags to prevent failures that we encountered after some long term use related to the extra weight of the mag and a hidden weakness found in the design of the stock/mag latch assembly. The Tactical Mag Latch greatly improves mag change of the factory 50 rounders too, makes for fast one handed use and it will be offered seperately as it has greater applications.
We're trying to coordinate the mag release with advertising and a write-up, so actual time-line will be dependent upon those publications."
My notes (and other findings) related to the FN 5.7x28mm Weapon System (Ammunition, Five-seveN pistol, P90 PDW, PS90 carbine, CMMG Banshee Mk57, SCHV weapons in general, conversion of other weapons, accessories, reloading, etc.)

Gunsmithing vs Johnsmithing - TheFiringLine Forums
Gunsmithing vs Johnsmithing - TheFiringLine Forums: "Rules gunsmiths live by:
1- Put your hammers and big files in a drawer and lock it. You probably won't need them.
2- If you have to force it, you're doing it wrong.
3- If the customer disassembled it then brought it in, it should be charged by the hour.
4- Cold blue is not bluing.
5- Cleaning guns must be very difficult, because a lot of people bring the job to a pro.
6- Household chemicals and guns often do not mix.
7- WD40 and guns do not mix.
8- Drop in parts don't.
9- Parts with no fitting required will require fitting.
10- Customers who perform their own trigger jobs keep gunsmiths and lawyers in business.
11- Hot reloads ruin more guns than mild reloads.
12- Fixing customer repairs usually costs more than the original repair would have.
and so on."

FN Forum.NET :: PS90 FS200 FN SCAR FNP FiveseveN 5.7x28mm
QUESTIONS:
1. Will short barreling a PS90 with a barrel from CMMG void the factory warranty on a PS90? What if CMMG does the work themselves?
Yes, We are sorry but it will void the wty.
2. What new things can you tell us about the SCAR that isn't in the standard press releases? Not much, it is pretty complete.
3. Will you offer a compact or subcompact FNP45, and if so, when?
Early '09 should see a complete line of sub-compacts.
4. Can you give us detailed information about the SS198 ammunition? There have been many rumors since the Shotshow about what the round is and if it is restricted or not.
It is a SS195 loaded to MAX velocity as a training/duty round for law enforcement. It is restricted by FNH, not the ATF and is available only through FNH USA Law Enforcement Distributors. It is available to agencies as well as individual officers.
5. What will be the overall length of the civilian legal carbine and rifle-length SCAR's (L and H) with the stock folded? 28"
6. I see the FNH-USA Website is listing 15 round magazines for the FNP-45 - How do we go about ordering them? You can order them through any dealer who can get them from a distributor.
7. Will there be an SAO version of the FNP-45 and if so, when? No, but we will have a DA/SA witha manual safety in about 60 days.
8. How many FPS does SS198 go through a Fiveseven? P90? PS90? I don't have that data yet.
9. Is FN working with any of the holster manufacturers to create a holster for the FNP-45? Blade-Tech has holsters available now and we are sending out plastic mock-ups to the other holster companies.
10. Any plans for a 10mm FNP
Not at this time.

Phoenix 1 is the company that supplies props/costumes/weapons for Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.
If there is enough of an interest, then maybe we can put together a buy in."

I know this gets confusing because its different all over the internet but according to Ring Sight.
From Ring Sights:
HC-14-62 - White Reticle Ring Sight with plastic housing.
MC-10-80 - Black Reticle Ring Sight with metal housing.
Wiki has it listed the other way around. Personally I am a bit confused myself. Maybe someone can ask FN in the next Q&A for a difinative answer.
---------------
RING SIGHT HC-14-62
FN chose our HC type with a circular aperture of 14mm diameter for their P90 sight. The HC design has a dual reticle - rings and a dot for day, open T for night. The open T doesnot obscure the target which may be difficult to discern if the reticle overlays it.Its height is greater, for a given aperture, than the LC type but this can easily be fitted intothe space between the barrel axis and the sight line. On the P90 the optic housing is plastic and the interface of the housing with the gun is by two zeroing screws. The optic can be put into other housings such as one with a laser pointer beneath it,complete with the laser battery, on a zeroing mount with range settings, the whole on adovetail interface for the British 5.56mm rifle.
RING SIGHT MC-10-80
The MC-10-80 is specifically designed for the FN Herstal P90. The sight is a unit power telescopic sight with a black graticule for day use and a open T for night use lit by a red tritium light source. Being NVG compatible it is ideally suited to 24 hour operations.

FN's Redheaded Stepchild - FN FiveseveN Forum: "Hey Baca, I'm not contradicting the charge weight of the SB193, it is in fact 2.0 grains. I'm in fact calling you a LIAR for claiming that its Hodgdon longshot powder. It is NOT. The first time you started spouting off chargeweights, you said it was RamShot Zip (which it is not either), now you call it Hodgdon LongShot. Hodgdon is manufactured in the US, SB193 in Belgium. FN does NOT import powders just so they can load ammo for EXPORT.
I'm also calling you a liar for your posts where you claim that SS195 has a charge weight of 7.0 grains (its 6.5 you non-scale reading retard), your claim that SS196 has a charge-weight of 4.0 grains (its 4.6 you moron), and that simply loading a 55 grain bullet into a pulled SS196 will give you a sub-sonic loading (it'll get you around 1380 Fps you baffoon)."

Gun range guns, Tucson shooting range: "Finding a place to shoot is becoming increasingly difficult as Tucson continues to grow. We're concerned that shooting opportunities will diminish greatly over the next several years unless we take action now to secure the future for the shooting sports in Tucson.
That's why Tucson Rod and Gun Club is committed to providing Tucson with a state of the art shooting range where gun owners can go to practice marksmanship, participate in the shooting sports and meet like minded sportsmen.
Tucson Rod and Gun Club is moving forward with plans for the construction of a non-profit, public shooting range on the east side of Tucson in the Redington Pass area. You can see a design drawing of the new shooting range by clicking here."

Belize & Ambergris Caye Help :: What are the basic laws on gun ownership in Belize? How are weapons classified(shotgun, rifle, handgun)? Is ammunition registered?: "What are the basic laws on gun ownership in Belize? How are weapons classified(shotgun, rifle, handgun)? Is ammunition registered?
Belizean laws are very restrictive and even harder to imoprt your own weapons. Certain calibers are totally illegal. There are a couple of shooting ranges in the country. The cost is $500 per permit per weapon. A single shot 20 gauge sells for over 500 BZE. 9 mil only allowed pistol caliber. 16 and 20 gauge shotgun and forget rifles altogether.
You have two kinds of licenses. Personal protection and farm use(mostly shotguns.) Anything bigger than a 9mm is classified as prohibited except shotguns of course, unless they are sawed off then they are definitely prohibited. Ammunition is not licensed but to buy ammunition one must produce a license. Personal firearm license is $75 per annum while farm license is $5 per annum. Recently they began offering licenses for up to three years. Before, one had to license every year on your birthday.
It is illegal to take firearms or ammunition into or out of Belize."
